Dr. Mandy Forbes

Mandy has a special interest and experience related to Mental Health and Psychological Problems related to sports performance. She has worked with a number of professional and elite athletes, sports teams and coaches involved in a number of sports, sporting bodies and professional teams. 


Mandy is a member of The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), www.bases.org.uk and The British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine, www.basem.co.uk


Mandy enjoys and participates in a number of sports .  


Mr. Alan Freeburn MSc. Psychological Therapy, BSc. (Hons) Psychology, M.H. 

Alan is a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology

Alan has worked in both Adult Mental Health and Private Practice for many years. He is trained in CBT and over the last 20 years has also trained in and used hypnosis extensively in his Psychology Practice.  

Over the last eight years he has specialised in Sports Mindset work with both individuals such as boxers and runners as well as in team sports such as football and hockey. Most recently he has been working with both young amateur footballers as well as supporting players in a professional team. Hypnosis has been particularly beneficial in his sports work to help athletes build confidence, develop visualisation and focus skills to improve performance, and support them in returning from injury. Most recently he has also trained in using hypnosis techniques to help manage chronic pain. 

As an advocate of good mental health Alan is especially keen to support athletes and teams using sports mindset training to maximise performance.


Dr Ashleigh Sinclair, BSc (Hons), D.ClinPsychol. Ash is a Clinical Psychologist and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Ash has a certificate in Cognitive Rehabilitation. Ash draws on a range of  therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Behaviour Activation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-based approaches. 

Ash's interests are applying psychological therapies to address difficulties experienced  by athletes at any level.

Ash enjoys participating in endurance events such as ultra marathons and has completed 11 ultras to date, including the West Highland Way Race and the Courmayeur Champex Chamonix (CCC) which is part of the UTMB running festival.
